The Historic Santa Fe Foundation owns and maintains six historic properties throughout the city. HSFF has taken stewardship of these properties on to ensure their preservation, and so they may remain available for the education and enjoyment of the public. Each property is important to the history and architectural legacy of Santa Fe in its own way, and has been taken on by the Foundation both to preserve the building itself and to serve as an example of the possibilities and best practices of historic preservation. The buildings are rented out as either private residences or commercial spaces, in keeping with their historic uses. HSFF also sponsors research on the history of each property, both as a contribution to Santa Fe's heritage and to guide future preservation decisions.
