"Words of Becoming," part of artist Jerry Wellman's "Navigator" installations, explores the meaning and intent behind language and conversation.
During this unique free event, visitors will receive their own "word of becoming." You will engage in a brief conversation with the artist, who will encourage you to share your thoughts and become part of the process, resulting in your unique word.
Your dialogue with the artist will culminate in a calligraphic drawing, where your word will emerge, carrying both personal significance and power. Wellman will write the word twice using a handmade calligraphy stick. One copy will be given to you, while the other will become part of the artist's ongoing installation.
The artist's mission is to empower participants through direct public engagement, adding a significant dimension to the project as a whole.
