Preservation Trades Internship
The Faith and John Gaw Meem Preservation Trades Internship offers a paid 10-week opportunity for a qualified student or recent graduate in architecture, planning, or design to gain hands-on preservation experience. Interns work with Foundation staff to develop skills in traditional crafts vital for conserving the Southwest’s unique vernacular and earthen architecture. Mac Watson Fellowship
HSFF launched the Mac Watson Fellowship in 2019 to honor Watson’s contributions to preserving Northern New Mexico’s history and architecture. The Fellowship helps students in cultural resource management gain experience researching and identifying important cultural properties in Santa Fe. Fellows identify, research, and nominate historic properties to the HSFF Register of Properties Worthy of Preservation. Visit historicsantafe.org/fellowship for more information.

High School Research Fellowship
HSFF’s High School Research Fellowship gives juniors and seniors a chance to explore New Mexico’s history and current issues with historians, archaeologists, and preservation experts. Throughout the academic year, students meet in historic Santa Fe locations, engaging in discussions and working on a research project. At the program’s end, students present their capstone projects to the public and receive a $500 education award. Learn more at historicsantafe.org/hs-fellowship.
