Discover how the garden gained new life and new purpose as a social center in the early 20th century, and see how plantings transition from spring to mid-summer. Presentation and garden tour followed by afternoon tea and Q&A on the portal. Tea by the Teahouse. All proceeds are split between Historic Santa Fe Foundation and the Santa Fe Extension Master Gardeners.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Ruthbeth Finerman, Ph.D. is Emeritus Professor and Chair of Anthropology at the University of Memphis, where she studied ethnobotany and medicinal plants. A certified Master Gardener and Santa Fe Native Plant graduate, she leads the Santa Fe Extension Master Gardeners El Zaguán garden project. In that role she oversees the historic flower garden and offers hands-on training on plant characteristics and sustainable gardening practices.
